Become part of a student’s story this summer
Meet Alysia and Anita.
Anita is a 5th grade student at Escuela Integrada. She struggles socially and academically at school, affected by learning disabilities and difficulty making friends. Her mother never finished elementary school and her dad works far away, only visiting his family on the weekends.
Alysia is a member of Canyon Springs Church in San Diego, California. She first came to Guatemala in 2023 and has returned multiple times on Vision Trips. Alysia became Anita’s sponsor in 2023 and connects with Anita on Zoom whenever she can. They write each other letters, and, in Alysia, Anita has found a beautiful friend who loves and supports her.
Sponsorship stories like Alysia and Anita’s are not uncommon for GRACES. The program fosters hope for students and families at Escuela Integrada. Our sponsors provide support and encouragement for students to continue their education despite the obstacles they face in their everyday lives.
You, too, can become part of a student’s story this summer. This summer, GRACES has a goal to connect 50 new sponsors with students at the school. Lovingly referred to as “padrinos”, or godparents, sponsors enter into the lives of the students in the school as a champion, a cheerleader and a friend.
The Summer of Sponsorships runs from May 15 through August 15, and anyone who signs up as a sponsor during this time will receive a commemorative Summer of Sponsorships sticker mailed directly to their home address!

Vision Trips enter busy summer season, new microbus arrives
Summer is the busiest season for Vision Trips, and we are so excited to welcome eight trips between now and the end of August! From Washington State to Washington D.C., groups will travel to Guatemala for an immersive experience with the students and families in our programs. Our staff have been busy preparing for their trips and cannot wait to see everyone in person.

Just in time for the summer season, our new microbus arrived! Jump on over to our Facebook page to cast your vote to name the bus. The bus purchase required a lot of patience and paperwork, and we are thrilled it’s finally here to help us transport groups around Guatemala. Thank you to all who contributed to our microbus fundraising efforts last year to make this happen.
