Back to school in Guatemala!

Happy New (School) Year!

School started this week for Escuela Integrada! On Monday, we welcomed 160 students at Escuela Integrada for a brand new school year. Twenty three of these students are brand new to our school.

In Guatemala, schools begin in January and end in October. Instead of being off in June and July like many U.S. schools, Guatemalan schools have November and December off.

As we kick off another school year, we cannot help but reflect in gratitude for everything that happened in 2024. Most importantly, we celebrated 10 years as an organization! GRACES has seen its fair share of ups and downs over the last 10 years, and we are so grateful for everyone who has come along for the ride.

Another major celebration was that for the second year in a row, all of the 9th grade students graduated! We are thrilled to see where their next steps take them.

We also want to celebrate the faithful support of our community of benefactors. Our Year-End Campaign brought in $36,724.46, putting us more than a third of the way toward funding the Meal Support Program for 2025. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this campaign!

With your support, we are able to provide warm meals at breakfast and lunch, and food bags for families during the vacation months. We will continue to raise funds throughout the year for food and invite you to prayerfully consider if the Lord is calling you to give in this way in 2025.
