Annual Report 2024

A note from the executive director

Dear Friends,

This past year, Cathy, GRACES’ Sponsorships Coordinator, passed along a birthday gift to a young girl at the school from her sponsor. The gift was a magic water coloring book, where the reader could fill a small marker with water to magically color the page.

The mother was there and watched as Cathy helped the little girl read the instructions for the gift. The mother said that she would have, unknowingly, thrown away the marker, thinking it simply did not work because she did not know how to read. She expressed her deep gratitude that her daughter would be able to read through the gift of her education at Escuela Integrada.

Education is an opportunity that so many, like this mother, do not or did not have. As an organization, we are grateful that we can provide this precious gift to students in Guatemala.

As you review our 2024 Annual Report, we invite you to keep this little girl at the forefront of your thoughts. The numbers on this report represent many accomplishments , but the fact that the little girl is learning to read, and, in doing so, will help her family break the cycle of poverty that her family faces, is what it all comes down to.

In this girl’s future, she will be able to read instructions, textbooks, essays, emails, listings for job opportunities, information for opening up a bank account, contracts, and the Bible. Truly, this warms my heart and fills me with gratitude for the work that God is doing in Guatemala through GRACES.

Thank you for partnering with us and for your generosity towards this mission.

Sincerely,

Hannah Nadeau Girón
Executive Director of GRACES
