Have you been on a Vision Trip?
Climbing in and out of microbuses is memorable for anyone who has been on a Vision Trip. Did you get the bus with air conditioning? A window seat? Have to climb over people or food bags? Have one of the kids from Escuela Integrada sitting right next to you giving directions to their house?
We depend on the microbuses for so many things, and especially during Vision Trip season. Everything from trip prep supply runs at Suma in Chimaltenango, to taking groups on a home visit high above town in Planes de Pastores is made possible by our trusty microbuses.
“Vision Trips are one of the most important sources of support for GRACES, so it is important to invest in providing a good transportation service for our visitors,” said Sandra Hernandez, Vision Trip Coordinator for GRACES.
As GRACES continues to grow the Vision Trip program, welcoming new teams from all over the U.S., we need another bus to get around town. A new bus will help us avoid paying extra transportation costs, which means more of your financial support goes directly to GRACES local programs to fund education in Guatemala.
We made it to the market!
We are tracking our progress toward purchasing a new bus by going on a Vision Trip through Antigua! Each destination marks a new amount raised as we work toward our goal of $20,000.
So far, we’ve been to the school and the market! Our halfway point is the Central Park, but we need your support to get there. If we raise another $4,725 we will be able to get to the park!

New details: Supporters Gathering Nov. 3-7
We cannot wait to welcome supporters of all giving levels and those interested in learning more about GRACES to the annual Supporters Gathering in November! Our dates are set, with a kickoff dinner on Monday, Nov. 3, a fun weeklong agenda, and a concluding breakfast on Friday, Nov. 7. Ticket prices are low from several areas in the U.S. right now, and we encourage you to look at flights soon.
The approximate in-country cost (all expenses except airfare) will be about $1,200 per person.
